Flaherty Elementary School

Yesterday, our Flaherty 4th graders enjoyed a magical field trip to the Hardin County Performing Arts Center to see Cinderella! A huge thank-you to the Hardin County PAC staff and performers for giving our students such a memorable experience—and to our amazing teachers and chaperones for making the trip possible! What a wonderful day of arts, imagination, and fun!

Help us spread kindness this holiday season! Our Family Resource Center is collecting nonperishable food items to support local families, and we’d love your help.

You can send donations directly to school December 2–9, or bring your items to Flaherty’s Festival of Trees on December 4 and use them to vote for your favorite class Christmas tree!

Every can, box, and bag makes a difference. Thank you for helping us show what the Flaherty family spirit is all about!

Thank you so much for supporting our students and staff during the Krispy Kreme fundraiser! All orders will be ready to pick up on Tuesday, November 25th. If a student has more than 2 boxes of donuts, the order must be picked up at school between 12-3pm. Please call the front office if you have any questions about your order.

Our classrooms were buzzing with creativity this week! One group of students brought The Best Halloween Ever to life by painting story-themed pumpkins, each one as unique and imaginative as the book itself! Meanwhile, another class teamed up for collaborative presentations exploring the History of Thanksgiving. Students researched, discussed, and created together to share what they’ve learned about this important American tradition. We love seeing hands-on learning and teamwork shine across our school!

We’re excited to kick off a brand-new holiday tradition at Flaherty! Join us on December 4th for a festive evening filled with music, community, and Christmas cheer. Enjoy special student music performances, shop at our Scholastic Book Fair, and take part in a meaningful community service project—all while enjoying a free chili dinner with your family.

Each class has decorated its very own Christmas tree, and you get to help choose the winners! Bring non-perishable food items to donate to our Food Drive—each item counts as one vote for your favorite tree. The more items you bring, the more votes you cast!

Come celebrate the season with us as we spread joy, give back, and enjoy time together as a school family!

Our next Map tests are coming up in December. These tests are important to our students' academic journey as they show growth and achievement. Please partner with us in making sure students are present and ready for these tests.

Tomorrow is Domino's Pizza Day! Feel free to send cash or check with your student for an additional piece of delicious pizza for only $2!

Today we had the honor of welcoming local veterans to our school for a special luncheon with their Flaherty Blue Devils. Our students also performed a patriotic song to show their appreciation. It was such a meaningful experience and a wonderful way to thank the brave men and women who have served our country.

Join us as we show our united support for the brave men and women who have served our country! Students and staff are encouraged to wear red or blue on Tuesday, November 11, to show gratitude and appreciation for our veterans. Let’s come together to honor their courage and dedication!

Picture Retake Day is November 14th!
Students and staff who were absent or would like a retake will have the chance to get their pictures taken that day. Don’t miss it!

SPMS has expanded their Volleyball open gym schedule. This is only for our 6th graders.

It’s the season of gratitude! 🍁 Throughout November, our staff will be sharing the many things they’re thankful for — big and small. Stay tuned each week as we celebrate the spirit of thankfulness at Flaherty Elementary!
